Think of an Indian restaurant and you might not think of French cuisine but Amani has successfully managed to combine both. This is no ordinary Indian restaurant – in fact it is very classy
All the dishes were artfully presented and showed a clever mix of flavours. The meat was beautifully tender, the prawns melt-inthe- mouth.
The food was so delicious we just had to try dessert. I opted for creamy passion fruit and mango brulee while my companion tried kulfi, Indian ice cream enriched with pistachios
With such high standard of food and service, it is no surprise that Amani´s owners are already thinking of expanding with plans now being made to open an Amani in Epsom Downs.
… A restaurant which has made a name for specialising in high class Indian food.
It´s rare to find high-class Indian restaurants in the outer London suburbs, but Amani offers the kind of elevated cooking you´d expect in the capital´s West End. Part of the reason is that the co-owner honed his culinary skills in the kitchens of the much-lauded Cinnamon Club.

A popular restaurant offering a unique Indian cuisine, Amani has been delighting Hamsey Green locals since 2008. Decorated in modern and attractive style, Amani is clearly inspired by central London´s most talked about Indian restaurants and indeed executive chef, Rajeev Kumar,is a previous employee of no less than acclaimed city dining room, the Cinnamon Club. Kumar has brought imagination and flair to the Amani kitchen, offering the discerning clientele a taste of India with a contemporary gourmet twist. The result is concise menus blending influences from across the many and varied Indian regions, bold, intelligent flavours and well thought out presentation. Supporting this excellent food is co-owner Azad Miah´s front of house team, a collection of smart and professional waiters who are both friendly and efficient, ensuring that the Amani experience is exactly as it should be. Regular evenings of entertainment take place at Amani too - think live tribute acts and musical performances – for those who appreciate dinner and a show.
Recognition for their incredible dedication, vision and innovation in creating such fine food and service at both venues. Their unique quality is in creating authentic and contemporary Indo-French food served at their two restaurants in simple contemporary surroundings.

A suburban high street and the odd Indian restaurant you wouldn´t blink an eye-lid for till you spot this new modern outlet and realise how good the cooking is here. No surprise to learn that the head chef here, Rajeev Kumar is ex-Cinnamon Club.
